This painting depicts the stunning female Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo amongst a background on cream Eucalyptus (leucoxylon) flowers. These large, loud birds love come to forage (and be terribly destructive) in our trees, but as an increasingly rare species, they are most welcome. The female is particularly distinctive with a banded tail and spotted patterning.
