Grey Fantail with Kangaroo Paws and Mandarins | Original Artwork
This is one of my favourites in my whimsical Teacup Tweets collection. In this painting, a local native Grey Fantail poses within a traditional still life composition including mandarins, white and blue patterned porcelain and a Kangaroo Paw flower (an unusual native flower that is the floral symbol of the state of Western Australia). The rich, patterned background, strong lighting and use of complementary colours, creates a bold and beautiful image with punch and personality. Just like a Grey Fantail! I painted part of this during a demonstration at the Watercolour Society of WA's International Exhibition, so an element of its resolution comes from discussions and feedback from visitors to that show. This is painted on 300gsm premium 100% cotton paper with professional grade paints.
Original watercolours are presented to the highest professional standard, ensuring both beauty and protection.
- Framing: Every original artwork that you choose to be framed will be under glass, and includes a white matboard. This mat separates the artwork from the glass, protecting the paper while enhancing the overall presentation.
